Where did you do your work experience?

What did you do?

I did a week of work experience at Mayday Hospital. I learnt how different parts of the hospital work and what they do. I also spoke to doctors and nurses about what they do and what they enjoy most about it.

The last two days I was placed in an elderly care unit. This was good because I got to do some practical work such as helping the physiotherapist do movement therapy with the patients.

What did you enjoy most?

I enjoyed talking with the nurses and the physiotherapist about their job. They were really friendly.

What did you learn?

One of the nurses showed me how to take someone’s blood pressure which wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be.

Do you have any advice for other people?

Even if you only have a week of work experience like me, you will learn a lot and make very good friends.
