Where did you do your work experience?

What did you do?

I had a placement on the diagnostics and investigations ward where I got the chance to observe lots of different procedures.

What did you enjoy most?

I really enjoyed observing some of the procedures, such as a liver biopsy which was fascinating! Being in the radiography department observing MRI, CT and Doppler scans was interesting too.

What did you learn?

I learnt loads about how the hospital runs, and how different departments work together and about patient care.

The learning experience has also helped me with my A-level studies and pursuing my future career.

Do you have any advice for other people?

If you get the chance, go for it! The experience is invaluable and it gives you an idea of what it is actually like to work in a hospital. It gives you things that you can't get from inside a classroom.
