Where did you do your work experience?

Walsall

What did you do?

I spent two weeks experiencing many aspects of the NHS. Most of my time was spent in the physiotherapy department, observing clinicians such as podiatrists and physiotherapists.

I also worked with the IT department for a while, designing templates for hospital staff to use. As well as this, I went to the head office where I mostly worked on reception.

What did you enjoy most?

I liked the whole responsibility of it. I enjoyed going to the different places each day by myself and experiencing different jobs in the NHS. I also liked interacting with patients and talking to people.

Observing podiatric surgery was another highlight. It was a bit gruesome but really interesting.

What did you learn?

I learnt a lot about dealing with people and how the NHS works.

Do you have any advice for other people?
