Where did you do your work experience?

What did you do?

I worked in the antenatal clinic for two weeks. Although I was doing clerical work, such as filing, I still felt that I learnt a lot from my experience. I had the chance to answer the phones to real patients and give them advice.

What did you enjoy most?

I had a tour of the maternity ward and the special care unit for babies who are born premature or have any problems.

What did you learn?

I learnt how to communicate with adults, members of staff and awkward customers, which could be useful later on.

Do you have any advice for other people?

Even if you only get a placement in a clerical position, take the opportunity because you can still learn a lot.

From working in the antenatal clinic, I have decided that I would like to be a midwife when I'm older.
