Where did you do your work experience?

Coventry

What did you do?

During my year 10 work experience, I got a full view of what it is like to work in a hospital. I got to shadow nurses, consultants and other doctors in different departments of the hospital.

What did you enjoy most?

I observed a procedure where an elderly lady had a pin removed from her toes and had a cast put on her leg.

What did you learn?

I learnt that confidentiality is very important to the NHS and that it is very easy to give out patient information. I also learnt that it takes a lot of different job roles to make a hospital and each and every one of them is important, even if it is being a cleaner.

Do you have any advice for other people?

I would advise you to consider joining the NHS no-matter what job you choose because it only takes a willing heart to make the world a better place for you and me.
