Where did you do your work experience?

Truro

What did you do?

I visited the Medical Physics department as well as Radiotherapy and MRI, but spent the majority of my time in Nuclear Medicine.

I met patients, observed scans and got to know how to integrate within a team and interact more confidently with adults.

What did you enjoy most?

Spending time in Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine and with the people in the departments.

What did you learn?

I learnt how radiotherapy treatments are planned and how to interact as a team.

Do you have any advice for other people?

Be confident.

Adults are more likely to trust you and get to know you more if you allow your personality to show and show that you are mature, responsible and confident. This lets them know that you are serious about the placement but are happy to learn and work within a team.
