Where did you do your work experience?

What did you do?

Learnt what the job of a paediatrician is, then helped around the wards.

What did you enjoy most?

Talking to the patients and watching how the paediatrician looks after his patients.I enjoyed talking to all the patients, and gaining first-hand experience of how the hospital is run.

What did you learn?

I learnt a lot about what goes on behind the scenes of a hospital. I was lucky enough to meet up with a paediatrician in the week that I was there. He gave me a tour of the materity ward and told me what GCSEs and A levels I need to get, and good universities for a medical degree. It was so useful!

Do you have any advice for other people?

All I can say is that the NHS is such a big organisation and it has so much to offer. It is brilliant to do work experience because you gain so much!
